Less than three (3) weeks and counting and our Great Minnesota Scottish Fair and Highland Games will be upon us. Members of the Fair Board are putting the final touches on 10 months of planning to bring YOU the best Scottish Fair yet.
With any luck, the weather will cooperate and the crowds will start streaming onto the grounds at 9:00 A.M. To double check all the events always go to the MSFHG website at: http://www.mnscottishfair.org/
Important News from Don Cogswell, president, MSFHG: Discounted General Admission tickets for the Minnesota Scottish Fair & Highland Games may be purchased online NOW.
VOLUNTEERS! Always needed. From Liz Michaelson: We always need volunteering at the fair. People can e-mail me at emichaelson@mnscottishfair.org. Minimum of 3 hours work, before (especially on the Friday before, May 18th) or during the fair are requested. You can also visit the website, click on "Volunteer" and let them know you want to help.
The Parade of Scots will begin at noon. Jack MacMillan and Babs Humphrey are co-coordinators and are finalizing plans for this year's event. It will follow a similar pattern as last year's parade with a few changes. We are happy to announce that the Honoured Clans for 2007 are Cameron and MacThomas. The theme of this year's Parade of Scots is "Cooperation and Participation Bring Unity to the Community."
By the way, Icelandair, our good and loyal sponsor of the MSFHG, is running something called Lucky Fares until May 15. Not sure if any of them are "lucky" enough to be going to Scotland but it wouldn't hurt (how's that for Minnesotaease?) to go to: http://www.icelandair.com/luckyfares/ and check it out.
