A Note from the Editor:

St. Andrew's Society of Minnesota, as a concept and as a group of great people, has meant a great deal to me over the past 7 years of my membership.  I have so much enjoyed everything from meetings to social gatherings to hosting Scottish dignitaries (The Lord Lyon, for example) to participating in all local Scottish events (and beyond).  I have found the people of SAS to be very important in my learning about giving back to the whole Scottish community and beyond.

For these reasons, I will miss being so involved as a board member and as editor.  I will ALWAYS continue as a member of this great group, but life moves on and I must at this time in my life do other things for the Scottish community.

Thanks especially to each and every member of SAS who coached and mentored me through the details of what this outstanding group means to our community and to all things Scottish.

Please welcome as our new webmaster, Don Luther.  He will be a great asset to the team!

The Executive Board is still looking for a newsletter editor.  This task is not as daunting as it may seem.  All you need is a PC, basic knowledge of MS Word or another word processing program.  The newsletter template is provided.  Nearly 90% of all articles are written by the board or other members of St. Andrew's Society.  THIS IS A REALLY FUN JOB!!

Please contact Bob Olsson at 651.770.5820 if you are interested in editing the SAS Thistle & Quill.

Thank you for the opportunity!

Sincerely,

Judith Palmateer
